MADHUBAN-Hospice For the Terminaly Ill Children.

Composed By Ar.Amit Panchal

Palliative care is the treatment of symptoms that occur in patients who are diagnosed as terminally ill. Cancer has been omnipresent in the lives of parents who have been robbed of the most precious gifts – their children. When diagnosed as terminally ill these children are beyond cure, their years of learning, playing outside, drawing, and all the activities they could’ve enjoyed snatched away. While there has been no cure for Cancer, many individuals and establishments have come forward to help them LIVE and EXPERIENCE their final days in the best ways possible. Hospice care while thoroughly studied in the last century it has still been in its infancy in India in the past few decades. The thesis focuses on the Architectural intervention in End of Life Care and Palliative Care for Children who are Terminally Ill in an underprivileged Indian Setting. It aims to create an environment that caters to the needs of the diagnosed and their parents in a way that is sensitive both physically and mentally.
